Texas Travels - August Theme - Lake Brownwood

Sorry Sorry Sorry!
I had another hectic week and weekend that distracted me from my blog. I will not give you any other excuses for my horrible behavior and will get right into this month's theme... Texas Travels!

This first post will have pictures from a trip to Lake Brownwood where my extended family have a lake house. During this trip I used only my cheap-o 35mm film fish-eye camera (which explains the graininess and lack of good focus) but I had a lot of fun and was pretty pleased with how most of the pictures came out.

This abandoned lot was hidden behind a wooden fence and since I am so short I wanted to know what was behind said fence. So I reached my camera over the fence and snapped this shot. I was quite pleased with how it came out when I got the film developed later. (Now I know what was behind the fence)

I kid you not, on one of our gas stops there was an old house being transported somewhere else on a semi and I just thought the yellow exterior paint was pretty cool. I'm not sure what part of the house was for sale or what that bucket was for (I really don't want to know anything about that bucket).

For some reason I forgot to crop this one so sorry about the thick black framing. Anywho, this was on the lake (obviously) and I just like how this one turned out.

Some flowers soaking up some sun.

Bird houses.

I am a sucker for thrift and antique stores, this one was pretty scuzzy and entertaining all at the same time.

Some of these soda bottles were still sealed but I don't think I would want to drink one.

Not entirely sure why I took this picture but I guess I thought it would look neat with the fish-eye.

This field was predominantly yellow when you looked at it from the street and the mini horse was just too pretty not to photograph. There are close up pictures of him on this post

There was a flower nursery that had all these really cool metal yard art.

Toadstool, anyone?

How about a majestic pink Flamingo for your flower garden?

I really liked these Aloe Vera plants, but don't go to them if you burned your finger you will end up with some cuts too.

I loved all the green fields and trees that were surrounding us.

The wind was just breezy enough to make the wheat like plants bend and sway.

The boat dock was in the process of being built but the flooring was down on the second level deck so we had a pretty nice view.

I love love love green growing things.

The purple wild flowers (aka pretty weeds) were all along the side of the roads.

Green grass, blue skies, and white fluffy clouds.

The sunsets were beautiful.

I highly recommend people go to a lake at least once in their lives, even if not to swim but to admire the unique beauty of it. I hope you enjoyed my pictures and as always I would love to hear about any comments, tips or criticisms you may have that can help me improve my photography.
